"I wanted to do something truly special to welcome my 40s"
May all women continue to soar like birds in the open sky—strong, fearless, and free!

“I wanted to do something truly special for my 40th birthday.” That was the very first thing Ms. Hien shared with us when she arrived in Sapa. After traveling more than 300 kilometers from Hanoi to the mountains of Northwest Vietnam, she was not searching for a luxury holiday or a famous check-in spot. What she was looking for was much simpler: an experience that would make her feel truly alive. As a homemaker, her life for many years had revolved around family, daily meals, endless household tasks, and familiar responsibilities. She told us that some days seemed to pass so quickly that she could hardly remember the last time she had done something just for herself. “My life felt a little repetitive. Not unhappy, but there were no longer many things that truly excited me. I felt I needed a change—something that would remind me that I am still young at heart” And so, she chose paragliding!
Many people were surprised. A woman who had just turned 40, with no experience in adventure sports, deciding to launch herself into the sky from a mountainside hundreds of meters above the valley below. But perhaps that is exactly what made this flight so meaningful. Standing at the takeoff point, she admitted she was nervous. Then again, most people would be. In front of her stretched an endless sky, while beneath her lay the valleys and majestic mountain ranges of Sapa. Yet after only a few running steps alongside her pilot, her feet left the ground. The sky opened before her! The wind swept through her hair! The mountains appeared more magnificent than ever! And little by little, her fears were left behind. After landing, the very first thing she said was: “I never thought I could do it. But I really did” That smile touched all of us. Her tandem pilot, Minh Vo, who shared the journey with her, was equally moved by her story. “What impressed me was not how high she flew or how far she traveled through the sky. What I will remember is her determination. In her, I saw the image of so many strong women who dedicate themselves to their families every day, yet sometimes forget that they also deserve to pursue their own dreams.” Then he smiled and added: “Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is moving forward even when fear is still there. And Ms. Hien did exactly that.” We believe there are countless women like Ms. Hien. They may never stand on a stage. They may never make headlines or become known around the world. Yet every day, they quietly care for their families, overcome challenges, and show extraordinary strength in their own way. And sometimes, that strength deserves to be celebrated—with a journey, a new experience, or simply a day dedicated to themselves.
🪂 The day Hien took off
Turning 40 is not the end of youth. It can be the moment a woman truly understands her own worth. The moment she knows what she wants. And the moment she becomes brave enough to begin. Thank you, Ms. Hien, for allowing us to be part of such a beautiful story. We hope that years from now, when you look back on your trip to Sapa, what you remember most will not only be the mountains or the blue skies, but also the moment you overcame your fear, spread your arms into the mountain wind, and took flight. 🕊️ To all women: may you always be as strong and free as birds soaring across an endless sky. Because age is only a number! Dreams, freedom, and the beauty of the human spirit know no limits!
