Rong May Glass Bridge is a tourist complex on road QL4D, on the Lai Chau side of O Quy Ho Pass. Besides the bridge itself there is an outdoor glass lift, a set of thrill games, cafés and several viewpoints over the valley. This page draws on our own visit.
Overview
The visit starts with the glass lift fixed to the cliff face: a see-through cabin climbs about 300 m in roughly a minute and a half, the view widening over the Hoang Lien Son range and O Quy Ho Pass.
At the top is the glass bridge – a U-shaped balcony reaching about 60 m out from the rock and roughly 5 m wide. Early morning or after rain you may find a sea of clouds; on a clear day the pass winds away far below.

How it came about
Construction began in 2017 and the complex opened to visitors in late 2019. At its opening Rong May was the second glass bridge in Vietnam and the highest in the country at the time.
About 80 m of the lift runs inside the mountain; the rest is in the open, with three glass walls facing outwards. As for altitude, our own review and many sources give about 2,200 m above sea level, while the complex's ticket site quotes a slightly higher figure.
Getting there
From Sun Plaza, take QL4D past Silver Waterfall and Heaven's Gate, then down the pass towards Lai Chau – about 20.4 km in all, a little over half an hour by motorbike or car.
- Taxi / private car: rides back from the pass are hard to find – agree in advance that the driver waits, usually for a small surcharge.
- Tickets: on weekdays you can check visibility on arrival before buying; at weekends, on holidays and in rice-harvest season, book ahead.

Games and photo spots
- Glass bridge: stop in the middle and look straight out at the Hoang Lien Son range.
- Zipline: a fast run across the valley on a steel cable – the stand-out ride here.
- Sky bike: more a test of nerve than of legs; the further out you pedal, the better the view.
- Death Swing: a giant swing that carries you out past the cliff edge, and a favourite photo angle.
- Log bridge: gentler, fine for adults and children alike.
- Bungee: currently suspended.
When to go
- Cloud hunting: arrive around 7:00–9:00; the cloud season runs December–March.
- Clear valley views: 14:00–16:00, once the mist has lifted.
- September: golden rice in the valley below – and the busiest time.

Costs (reference only)

Tips and safety
- No high heels, hard-soled or studded shoes; cloth shoe covers are handed out free at the lift door.
- Afraid of heights? Walk slowly, hold the rail and look out at the mountains, not down at your feet.
- The bridge alone takes about 1–1.5 hours; with games and food allow 3–4 hours.
Combine in one day
Rong May is at the far end of the QL4D outing, so it pairs naturally with Silver Waterfall, Love Waterfall and Heaven's Gate on O Quy Ho Pass – half a day is about right. One plan: Rong May at 14:00–16:00, then stop at Heaven's Gate for sunset on the way back.
Pairing with paragliding
Rong May is out on O Quy Ho Pass, while the flying site is in Muong Hoa Valley (take-off at Hang Da village, about 6 km from Sun Plaza) – opposite directions.
With two days, give each its own half-day. With one day: fly in the morning and reach Rong May at 14:00–16:00. Standing on glass means looking down at height; paragliding means leaving the ground altogether for 8–15 minutes – two different feelings, and neither replaces the other.
